Pony experience

Ages 4–6 · two hours

A first, gentle introduction to ponies — meeting them, grooming them and a short ride. Runs one or two days each school holidays.

One horse, one student.

Private lessons here are genuinely one-on-one — for those forty-five minutes the horse belongs to one rider. Family-run since 2019, founded by Jolene Zhou.

Before you come

Three things to know before your first lesson.

A helmet must be worn at all times when riding, no exceptions. We have adjustable helmets you can borrow.

Closed-toe shoes must be worn at all times around the horses. Riding boots are recommended.

Rider weight limit 75kg — for the safety of the horse as well as the rider.

Common questions

Before you ask.

How old does my child need to be?

From age four for private lessons. The after-school and holiday programmes are for ages seven to thirteen. Adults are welcome for private lessons too.

Do we need our own gear?

No. We have adjustable helmets you can borrow. Bring closed-toe shoes and long fitted trousers, plus a warm layer — most of what we do is outdoors.

Is there a weight limit?

Yes — 75kg, for the horse’s safety as well as the rider’s.

What happens if the weather is bad?

We check the forecast the day before and again on the morning of the lesson. If we decide it isn’t safe to ride, you’ll get an email as early as we can send it, and the lesson goes back into your balance.

What if we miss a lesson?

Let us know before 8:00am on the day (Monday to Thursday) or by 8:00pm the night before for Saturday lessons, and we’ll offer a make-up lesson — one per term, to be used within a month. We can’t guarantee a slot or your usual coach.

Can adults learn?

Yes. Private lessons are open to adults, and run during school hours as well as after school.
